I signed a story contract with a publisher! When Havok came out with their season theme Vice and Virtue I was excited, but every time I sat down to write for this season theme I kept drawing a blank. Then, as I talked with some writer friends about rejection and how it doesn’t matter if you have a thick skin or not, rejection still hurts. It got me thinking about how we, as authors, bleed our hearts and souls into our stories. Then my mind started thinking about the magic of stories and how selfish it is of authors to quit telling their stories simply because of the pain of rejection. Out of all these musing came The Book of Life, a story about selfishness and sacrifice and how precious each moment in life is. This was one of those stores that just flowed out of me, and I knew it needed to be published. I’m so grateful that www.gohavok.com agreed and picked up the story!
In the next couple of weeks, I’ll be telling you a little more about The Book of Life and how it came to be and the themes and truths found in the story. But for now, be sure to mark your calendars for Dec. 2nd, so you don’t miss this beautiful story of selfishness and sacrifice.
